  • Negotiated savings of $13million of Stamp Duty costs on transfer of assets from Sunshine Coast Council to reinstated Noosa Council
  • Targeted abandoned vessels on Noosa River
  • Negotiated a formal role for the new Noosa Council in the planning decision for the "Noosa on Weyba" development
  • Initiated "Party Houses" legislation to empower the new Noosa council to require rogue visitors in residential areas to meet community's "Good Neighbour" standards
  • Successful advocacy and lobbying for Noosa Council to be given responsibility for managing the parking and camping issues in the Noosa National Park

SPORT AND RECREATION

  • Secured tenure and improved leasing arrangements for the Noosa Model Flyers and Sunshine Coast Aviators
  • $100,000 for Noosa Pirates to replace flood lights on playing fields
  • Rebuild of Albert Street boat ramp and construction of floating walkway to assist local boaties and anglers, $380,000

  • Eumundi Noosa Road upgrade (stage 1) from Emu Mountain Road to Grays Road, $6.5 million
  • Eumundi Noosa Road upgrade (stage 2) $5.3 million
  • Eumundi Noosa Road speed reduction from 100km per hour to 90km per hour
  • Cooroy-Noosa Road upgrade and ongoing repairs into Cooroy
  • Cooroy-Noosa and Sunrise Road dangerous intersection upgrade, including 2 disability friendly bus stops, $2 million
  • Cooroy-Noosa Road speed reduction from 100km per hour to 90km per hour
  • Don Napier and Eumundi-Noosa Road, intersection upgrade and delineation
  • Louis Bazzo Drive and McKinnon Road, safety upgrade and improved signage

HEALTH and safety

  • Three new ambulances for the Noosa Heads and Tewantin Ambulance Stations, $600,000
  • Six additional paramedics  for the Tewantin Ambulance Station, extending operating hours
  • Sunshine Hospice emergency funding by Queensland Health, $100,000.  Ongoing support for the establishment of the new Katie Rose Committee Assoc.
  • Successful advocacy in getting local dental waiting lists reduced
  • NoosaCare Inc received funding for a new dementia care unit at Carramar
  • A completely refurbished Fire Station at Noosa Heads
  • A new vehicle for the Tewantin SES team
  • Acquisition of shed for Noosa Heads Police Station
  • 4 graduate Police Constables for Noosa Heads Station

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & facilities

  • Advocated for local lobbying group to successfully overturn the extended late trading hours application for a local entertainment venue
  • Negotiated 19 alternative sites to remove the volume of air traffic over Teewah Landing Ground
  • Cabinet submission to transfer the Teewah Landing Ground site into the National Park
  • Led a Buy Locally campaign in partnership with Noosa Chamber of Commerce, Eumundi Chamber of Commerce and Peregian Beach Business Association
  • Chaired the Noosa delegates at the Queensland Education Accord Summit
  • Engaged with community at the roundtable forum for The Queensland Plan
  • Flood mitigation in the Daintree Estate, Tewantin, $430,000

  • Initiated the annual Noosa Electorate Queensland Day Awards to celebrate and reward volunteers in the community
