Buy Locally 2013
Member for Noosa, Glen Elmes, has encouraged all Noosa residents and visitors to mark Small Business Week and the Buy Locally campaign with enthusiasm.
“Small business is the life-blood of our local economy.
“Not only that but it also currently contributes almost half of Queensland’s Gross State Product.
“Every dollar we spend, as far as possible, should be for the good of our own local economy,” Mr Elmes said.
The aim for Queensland Small Business Week is to help local people start, grow or succeed in their businesses.
“Small Business Week climaxes on Saturday 27 July with Buy Locally Saturday when we all need to make a special effort to support our local business folk.
“Noosa is truly a community of communities, each of which is unique.
“Each community exhibits differences which make it special to those who choose to live within them and to those who choose to visit them.
“Each also has wonderful services or product to surprise us.
“This week, we need to make a special effort to seek them out to support this week or to note them for future reference,” Mr Elmes said.
“If we want a strong local economy which can deliver jobs for us now and our kids in the future, then we need to be supporting each other in that mutually beneficial goal.
“Let’s all make the money go around and around in Noosa,” Mr Elmes urged.
